The undiscovered faces of business cards

Here’s the mathematical derivation: geometry teaches us that a business card is a cuboid, thus there have to be six faces. It took quite a long time until a cards backside turned into the creatives playground. So the next logical step was to approach the four leftover faces.

Use

Business cards get a special note, compliment cards turn into an experience even before taken out of the envelope, a beer coaster has a mysterious glow around its edge. Alas, books can have coloured edges as well.

Procedure

Depending on the desired effect traditional craftsmanship or techniques we developed come into play. Spot colors (HKS or Pantone) can be done as well as metallic colors (matte) or traditional gilt edging using real gold.

Do & Dont

Absorbent substrates require tests prior to a production run. Light colors on dark substrates may be a critical application that can be solved in certain cases. Thin substrates look astonishing while on a pile whereas the effect is hardly to be seen on a single sheet.
