Business cards with hot-foil stamping and a variety of edge colorings
Julian Flockton: ”For Convecto, as an agency which helps build brands and provides digital products and services, business cards are more important than ever – even in this “digital age.” Metaphorically speaking, we often mean a lot of different things when we refer to “business cards”. In reality, our printed business cards are our actual “business cards”. The card is often the first object that we exchange with new clients and with business partners. The quality of the card plays a significant role, as it indicates to the recipient what we stand for. We have never regretted for one moment putting so much effort into the production of our business cards. In countless meetings, we’ve experienced a “guilty pleasure” at the expression on the face of the recipient, while they were still studying the details of the print work. All one can say about the outcome of this project is a short and sweet: “Perfect”.”
A doubleface cardboard was used for these sophisticated business cards, which was duplexed, as desired by the client: the face of the card was black with a frosty white reverse. The weight of the card in total was a hefty 540 g/m². Hot-foil stamping with black mirror foil produced an exciting effect and also good readability, which was accentuated by a deep stamping. Each employee could make their own choice of color edging from a wide palette of colors. So, cards were similar yet not identical – and an elegant example of the playfulness of the design.
